I'm Regina Small. I'm a writer and editor in NYC. I have a lot of opinions.
Interests include: sci-fi/fantasy, literature, summertime daydrinking, trying to be a better person, fancy manicures, philosophy, pictures for sad children, and the role of irony in the modern world. And fandom, of course.
I have another blog dedicated exclusively to science fiction/fantasy. Read it here.
I appreciate the work of “When is White History Month?” (screenshots of racist tweets asking that question) but it was so depressing and it’s only February 1st, so I had to unfollow within a few hours.
#uainthittinitright Starbucks. Bikram yoga. Whole Foods. Politically-motivated boycotts of Whole Foods. Stephen Malkmus. Adult spelling bees. Bicycles. Stories about the number of times your bicycle has been stolen in NYC. “That Halloween costume isn’t…store-bought…is it?” Advocating a direct relationship between musical taste and worth as a human being. Well-intentioned ironic racism that is still kind of racist but oh-my-god, if you didn’t enjoy it it’s probably not about racism but about your failure to understand irony.
Oh, sorry, I lost the meme.
(To be fair, I don’t see Choire scrambling to defend himself on this one. Kia’s response was perfect — and funny.)
